It was a tough choice figuring out where to film this month – from being a virtual beer desert a few months ago, Wales is now bursting with great craft beers. I say Wales, but we only really did south Wales – and only really scratched the surface there. Hopefully we can go back and do central and north Wales, and look at people like Waen and Purple Moose.
Each of these pubs was the kind of place you want to spend an entire day in. We did also want to film in a Brain’s pub. They’re a pretty glaring omission from a South Walean beer blog. Unfortunately we were told we had to ask permission from head office to film in a Brain’s pub. I attempted to get this permission by both phone and e-mail. Two weeks later, I’m still waiting to hear back from them. Shame.
Anyway – here goes…

And after doing the ingredients of beer last month, this month Mr Amor shows us around his brewhouse.

Hope you enjoy watching them. If yiou do, please link to them if you can – we’re trying to maximise traffic so we can gain interest from other places to help get the message about British craft beer out to a broader audience.
Next month we’re in London, filming a London beer week at my local, the Jolly Butchers.
Great video post, but i wouldn't worry about not hearing from Brains. I dont want to repeat my recent moan (in Pub Curmudgeons post about smooth beers) but you didn't miss much by not filming in one of their pubs. They have the heritage but not the beers.
This blogvid shows the great exciting beers happening in wales.
Just to let you know … vimeo has an easy button that should allow others to embed the videos, but when that is done I see a message that says something along the lines of "the owner has not allowed you to embed this video."
Don't know if that is something you actually control or not; it also looks as if you *can* do it if you pay $50 to become a vimeo premier member or whatever. But I thought I would pass it along.
Meantime, happy to link at least.
Thanks vor the great videos. Really eager to see the others!
That's the best brewery tour I've never been on. I'm normally more interested in eating hops or drinking the finished product! Both very good vids.
Couple of cracking videos. The brewing process video is fascinating for those of us who are more occupied with what and where we drink, rather than how it's made. I'll echo Joe's post though, it's not possible to embed these videos yet
Great stuff! I'm filled with envy that I don't have access to beer and pubs like that.
I really enjoyed the brewing process video as well. I hope you post the next one. Footage of the fermenting process sounds amazing.
